Seed Treatment
What is seed treatment?
Seed treatment is the application of chemical treatments to processed seed before it goes to market or into the ground. Applied correctly, it protects seed from soil-borne disease, insect damage and early-season pest pressure — improving establishment rates and reducing the risk of crop loss before a plant has had the chance to get started.
At Seedtech, seed treatment is the step that comes after processing. Seed arrives is cleaned, graded and sorted before being treated, coated and ready for planting.
What we apply
We apply fungicide treatments, insecticide treatments and combined fungicide and insecticide treatments across all seed types we handle — including canola, cereals, pulses, pasture seed and specialty crops.
We work to your specification. If you supply your own chemistry, we apply it. If you need us to source and supply treatment products, we can do that too. Either way, the application rate, coverage and product selection is driven by your requirements and label specifications— we're here to apply it accurately and consistently.
How we apply it
Treatments are applied using a film coater — a precision application method that delivers an even, controlled coating across the seed surface. Film coating binds the treatment to the seed rather than leaving it as a loose powder or slurry, which means better coverage, reduced dust-off during handling, and a more consistent application rate across the batch.
For seed going into branded retail packaging or export markets, the visual finish of a film-coated product also matters — it presents as a professional, market-ready product.
AgSafe Compliant
Seedtech is AgSafe compliant, meeting the chemical handling, storage and application standards required for the safe use of registered seed treatment products. All treatments are applied to customer and label specifications.
Works with your processing run
Seed treatment is designed to integrate directly with your processing campaign at Seedtech. Once your seed has been cleaned, graded and dried through our processing line, it moves seamlessly into the treatment stage — no need to transport seed to a separate facility or manage a second logistics chain.
One facility. One point of contact. Processed and treated, ready for dispatch
